FRENCH QUARTERS MEETS GOLD COAST

This outdated kitchen was ready for an upgrade and the client's home already had a mixture of travel inspired, vintage inspired, and unique style which we wanted to bring into the kitchen. The overall concept was a kitchen redesign to include a new layout for better functionality and to enhance the overall space, by making the hallway and storage feel part of the kitchen. Aesthetically, each finish was inspiring to the client as we established the overall palette. We moved the sink from the corner to a better L shape working space. The custom Tiffany-inspired light fixture sets the tone of the palette and the french-lousianna inspired details of the fleur de lis. We maximized the height by bringing the cabinets to the ceiling and included a mixture of finishes and accents to break up the deep green with multiple tones including natural white oak on the walls, pewter/rustic hardware, along with a gunmetal finish on the faucet. The farmhouse sink conveys a casual, yet sophisticated detail by using Kohler's signature truffle color to extend the warmth of the palette. The countertops have minimal colors, while still continuing the character without starkness or darkness. Lastly, the wallcovering backsplash brings all the colors and styles together to balance out the greens, warmth, and fleur de lis influence.
