URBAN CAFE KITCHEN
This open kitchen already had a very functional layout, however, the existing wall created a funky barrier and cut off the space. Once we removed the wall, we could extend the cabinetry and pantry to add additional storage. Including larger specialty appliances was important to the client, so we also maximized the storage and height to keep the proportions appropriate. We included a 2nd set of uppers since the exposed ceilings allowed for so much height. We added wall sconces on the sink wall to give that long wall some anchoring and detail and carried the backsplash up to the windows to make everything feel larger. The countertops are a specialty granite and we bookmatched two slabs for a special effect when looking into the space. We highlighted the finishes with urban black and gunmetals against the warm white oak.
